Paul, toward the end of his letter to the Ephesians writes, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise.”(Ep 5:15) Do these words affect your life? Do you find a passionate pursuit in your soul for the “holiness without which no one will see the Lord?”(Heb. 12:14) The bible makes clear that holiness is a worthy endeavor for every Christian, in fact, a holy life is the distinguishing mark of a Christian. Words like, run, work, strive, hold fast, and fight describe the Christian life. We should resolve to, “work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure (Phil. 2:12b-13a).
Join us this year for Renown 2019, as we will look to God’s word to teach us about what it means to live holy lives (1 Thess. 4:7). During your time we will examine, encourage, and challenge you to consider your commitment to “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 3:14). As Robert Murray McCheyne has once said, “A holy man is an awful weapon in the hands of God.”
