Leland Ryken is in his forty-fifth year of teaching at Wheaton College, where he currently serves as Emeritus Professor of English. Dr. Ryken grew up in rural Iowa. He received his B.A. from Central College and his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon. By early next year Dr. Ryken will have published forty books across a wide array of different topics and disciplines, including John Milton, the arts in Christian perspective, the Bible as literature, the legacy of the King James Bible, work and leisure in Christian perspective, Bible translation theory, and Puritanism. Dr. Ryken and his wife Mary have three children and fifteen grandchildren.
