D3 Rome is a short term mission trip opportunity available to high school students who attend the 2012 D3 youth conference.

With discipleship as the central aim of D3, an international short-term mission trip is a chance for students to exercise what they have learned during their time at D3. As a result of 2011’s D3 trip to Uganda, over 3,000 people heard the gospel, and our missionary partners were encouraged and further sustained in their work. This year, D3 students have the chance to minister the gospel to a specific community in Rome, Italy.

D3 students and leaders from Boyce College will travel to Rome to work alongside an International Mission Board team. The work will be focused on helping a church plant that was recently launched in the neighborhood of San Palo.

Today is a vital time for the evangelical church in Rome. Predominantly Roman Catholic in population, younger Catholics are beginning to reject Catholicism as a way of life and are turning to lives of materialism and worldliness. Missionaries have an incredible opportunity to reach the people of Rome, especially as young people now question their devout religious heritage.

The International Mission Board team that we will work beside this summer is working diligently to reach the Roman people. As a short-term missions team we will serve these missionaries and the community of San Palo through neighborhood clean-up projects, community service and sports ministry. Students will have an opportunity to take part in something that will cultivate fruit for decades to come.
