— D3 Youth Conference —

D3 Boston

Overview

D3 Boston will be a short term mission trip opportunity available to students who attend D3, from June 29-July 5, 2012.

D3 is a conference with discipleship at its core.  Our desire is that students would walk away from this conference knowing, loving, and trusting Jesus more.  One way we aim to accomplish this objective is through the teaching of God’s word and the gathering together with other Christians.  An essential component to discipleship is a ‘boots to the ground’ approach that puts in action the things learned during the conference.  That is exactly why we want to deploy students to Boston, MA for a short-term Gospel ministry opportunity. During our time in Boston we will be involved with: evangelism, children’s camp, community service projects, and outreach.

There are many reasons to send a team to Boston.  For instance, Boston is the largest city in New England with a population of 4.5 million in the metro area. Due to the 100 different colleges within the metro area, one of largest population segments is college students. No only is there a significant portion of college students, but Boston is a dense and culturally diverse city that has many needs. Sadly, only approximately 2.8% of the Boston population is evangelical.  On a positive note however,  there are many new churches being planted in the city proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

One of those churches is City On A Hill led by pastor Bland Mason. Bland is a two-time graduate of Southern Seminary earning both his Masters and PhD.  Currently, Bland serves as the planting pastor of City On A Hill Church and the chaplain to the Boston Red Sox.  The church was planted in 2009 and currently has 2 meeting locations, Brookline and Allston, MA, just miles from downtown Boston.

The D3 Boston team will partner with Pastor Mason and City On a Hill Church to serve for the advancement of the Gospel.

Price - $975.00

Students who are accepted to the D3 Boston mission team will raise $975 to cover the cost of the trip. All travel to/from Louisville and expenses in Boston are covered through this support for the 7-day trip.
