Number one in importance for a gathered church is hearing from God. God’s Word fuels a church’s worship and work on Sunday and everyday.
What does that mean for pastors? It means their first job is to expose the church to the Bible—to preach expositionally. Everything else in a church can fail except that one thing. It’s like Jesus said to Martha: “One thing is necessary”—listening to his teaching.
The trouble is, pastors often get distracted by so many other, often good, things. For that reason, 9Marks, a ministry dedicated to building healthy churches, and Southern Seminary are partnering together to host a conference on expositional preaching.
The conference goal? To encourage and equip church leaders to preach expositionally. What is it? How do you do it? Why is it so critical? We hope you join us, March 1-2, 2013, on the campus of Southern Seminary.
